This beautiful Shantung fabric has been a cornerstone of our range now for 40 years - though of course we keep adding new colours to keep things fresh!

Known elsewhere in the trade as 'Dupion' or 'Slub', the word Shantung is an Anglicisation of 'Shandong' in China, where in the days of the Silk Road the particular local breed of silkworm spun a delicate yarn of varying thickness, giving the finished fabric that unique texture.  Today, our Shantung is 100% polyester for durability, bright colour retention, and great margin opportunity for the retailer.
